We synthesised 42 randomised controlled trials (n = 8,906) evaluating MBSR programmes across clinical and non-clinical populations. Random-effects meta-analysis revealed significant reductions in anxiety (Hedges' g = 0.71) and depression (g = 0.64), with resilience scores improving by a standardised mean difference of 0.58 across populations aged 18–74.

Drawing on two years of StandStrong cohort data (n = 1,102), this study examined how quality of social connection moderates the relationship between loneliness and psychological distress. High-quality social ties attenuated the impact of loneliness on depression and anxiety by up to 54%, with effect sizes persisting across demographic subgroups.

We investigated whether HPA axis reactivity and morning cortisol profiles predict psychological resilience trajectories over 18 months. Among 412 participants, blunted cortisol awakening response was associated with faster recovery from acute stressors, while diurnal cortisol slope moderated the relationship between perceived stress and depressive symptoms.

A cluster-randomised trial evaluated the StandStrong school resilience programme in 28 secondary schools (n = 3,840 students aged 12–17). Intervention schools showed significantly greater improvements in the Child and Youth Resilience Measure, with largest effect sizes among students from lower-income households.
